As suspected, the Peepcoin 2.0 project has gone dark. The website is down (404 error), Telegram channel is gone, Twitter account has had all tweets deleted.

We feel deeply sorry for those PCN community members that felt that they had to participate in the PP2 swap and are immediately contacting Bleutrade (where the swap wallet is located) in an attempt to get Bleutrade to freeze the wallet. We are also attempting to have the PCN held within that wallet returned to their rightful owners. However, we must be very clear, this is not something that we can promise will work, or something that Bleutrade are willing to cooperate with. We will try to the best of our ability to have all swapped PCN back to their owners if this is something that can be achieved.

Furthermore, we are only days away from releasing the newly patched 1.0.4.1 PXN-built PCN wallet. This wallet is a MANDATORY UPDATE and will eliminate all old versions of PCN wallets, and thus, eliminate all old nodes on the PCN blockchain. The PXN Foundation believes that this will ensure that the PCN blockchain is finally secured and 100% governed by the PXN Foundation. Once the new wallet is released, we will be announcing it across all of our social media channels, and providing the download link on our website https://peepcoin.io/peepcoin

Once again, we are sorry for those that have lost their PCN to the PP2 swap. We also thank those community members that supported us in this time of uncertainty and doubt and ignored the PP2 scam attempts.

Lastly, the PXN Foundation would like to remind everyone that we are, and always have been created for the benefit of the community. We will continue to move forward despite the various attempts of scamming this community, time and time again. We will always push forward.

For now, most of our resources and time will go into the newly patched PCN wallet (1.0.4.1). Once a consensus has been established, we will move ahead with the PXN swap as planned. To help further the speed of development we are asking once again, for community donations. Any and all donations are greatly appreciated and will help immensely Please see below, for donation wallet addresses.

In the week following the reappearance of the original PCN scam developer, the PXN Foundation did our due diligence to make sure that the community was made aware of his destructive intentions and to try, in our best efforts, to stop him from advancing with his false “mandatory swap” to PP2.

We would like to firstly thank the community for their continued support by ensuring that the latest wallet version 1.0.4 has been installed which, we would like to highlight, has given the PXN Foundation further consensus on the PCN blockchain (now over 51%). The PXN Foundation will be releasing a patch shortly, please ensure that you keep up to date with its release.

Furthermore, there have unfortunately been some community members that have either missed or ignored our warnings and have proceeded to swap their PCN for his scam PP2 coin as his swap wallet has been increasing in size, slowly. The PXN Foundation would like to once again, remind the entire community that Peepcoin (PCN) is now recognized as a coin which is fully governed by the PXN Foundation and therefore any listings, changes, alterations and updates, must be voted on and pushed through the appropriate channels. The original scam developer of PeepCoin 2.0 (PP2) has intentionally avoided this crucial, decentralized process.

STEX exchange (the first exchange that PP2 submitted an application to) has responded to our most recent email, which outlined the Foundation’s mandatory process and they’re in full support of the PXN Foundation. Please see below image of their email response.

We made sure to point them to the main website for PP2 where they have noticed several suspicious pieces of information including the “mandatory swap” which they were not aware of. This has caught the attention of their Coin Listing and Business Development Manager and therefore STEX exchange will NOT be listing PP2 and will immediately inform the PXN Foundation of any further communications from any other coins claiming to be PeepCoin or variant versions of PeepCoin/PCN.

We would like to inform everyone (and the original scam dev) that this process will continue for each exchange that PP2 applies for. The last thing that Exchanges want to be involved with is a known scammer with a history of ripping investors off and disappearing with their money. Especially when there is already mountains of evidence to support our claims against the individual in question. STEX will avoid any coin listings that are of a suspicious nature that do not follow the appropriate protocol of the governing body.

Lastly, we would like to invite the community members that have already swapped (some or all of) their PCN to pursue a FULL REFUND of their swapped PCN. Without exchange listings for their newly acquired PP2 coin, we believe that a refund should be appropriately offered and carried out by the developer of PP2. His direct actions once investors start requesting their (rightful) refunds should reveal his real intentions. If his intentions are to create a legitimate project that is funded (as he has stated) “from his own pocket”, then creating a new coin that has no attachments to PeepCoin would be achievable for him. Any community members that feel that they would like to pursue a refund of their swapped PCN should do so quickly, as the ‘burn wallet’ that has been used to swap PCN has already made withdrawals to wallets belonging to Bleutrade. Any ‘burn wallet’ should not have withdrawals, as the intention of the coin held within, is to be destroyed, not sold.

His bogus story is falling apart quickly.

It has come to light recently that some long-standing questions that the PCN/PXN community has had for a very long time, years, in fact, have been answered. The main question that comes to mind most often is, “what happened to the original scammer/developer of PCN?” Firstly, throughout the time since The PXN Foundation, and the previous 2 PCN teams, the original developer for PCN was nowhere to be seen. No contact with previous teams, and no public appearances. This changed however at 12:00 noon AEST 19th of March 2019. The PXN Foundation was contacted through our Official Telegram Channel by an individual claiming to be the original PCN scammer going by the alias John Matthews. We say alias because we have no proof that this is his real name. There is evidence on Bitcointalk of a name ‘Ben’ and also accusations of this individual being charged with FRAUD by an Australian Court of Law. The uncertainty of his real name and the accusations against him do not give us confidence that he has changed his ways.

Due to evidence that we deem to be trustworthy, The PXN Foundation does believe that this individual is the original PCN scammer. However, we know that he is NOT a threat to the PCN Blockchain. During the conversation, the PCN/PXN communities best interests were not his main focus, along with some other harsh words he made it clear that he intends to ‘take back what is his regardless of what the PCN/PXN community thinks’. The PXN Foundation believes it is our duty to keep the PCN/PXN community informed and would like to publicly state that we have nothing to do with this individual in any capacity.

The PXN Foundation want to make something very clear, this individual is not able to take control of any part of the PCN blockchain, period. Due to the loyal PCN/PXN community, the most recently released PXN Foundation-built PCN qt wallet has created a clear consensus of PXN Foundation nodes on the PCN blockchain, this also includes all PCN Exchanges as well. The only other option for him would be a fork from PCN to a new coin which he has already started working on. This new coin is called Peepcoin 2.0 (PP2) and it would be a SWAP as he has disclosed details of a pre-mine of PP2. The PXN Foundation must remind the community that this individual was the original developer for PCN and has scammed a lot of people before disappearing for 3 years. Is this someone you would trust with his new project? Is this someone you would willingly hand over your PCN and trust that he would have your best interests? The PXN Foundation strongly agrees that he is trying to scam the community again for personal gain.

We believe that he is trying to take advantage of the PCN/PXN community by swapping the communities PCN to his PP2 coin, and then he will dump PCN on the market, devaluing your investments. Seeing as he is unable to change/alter or take control of what used to be his, he will instead try to destroy the value of PCN. We have to ask that the PCN/PXN community near and far, rally together to stop this individual from attempting any such actions and spread the word that “The Peepcoin 2.0 (PP2) project is being run by the original scam developer for PCN – BEWARE”. We ask that community members support each other by informing those who do not read this announcement and instead need to be informed via word of mouth by fellow community members. We hope that this individual does not get a single PCN coin for his hard efforts as the last time it was the investors of PCN that were far worse off after dealing with this individual.

Furthermore, we have been put in a position that requires us to rethink our strategy moving forward with the imminent PCN – PXN swap. To protect the communities investments, and to hinder his attempts at participating in the swap procedure we will be delaying the PCN – PXN swap until we have confidence that this individuals influence on our new blockchain and coin will be minimal. We are currently working on a patch for the most recent wallet version (1.0.4) which will prohibit old nodes from interacting with the newest wallet version. This will see that any nodes still running the oldest version of the wallets blocked, and unable to transact with the newest version of the wallet, 1.0.4. This means that any transactions being broadcasted from suspicious old wallet versions will not be able to transfer PCN coins to exchange wallets and will be forced to update to the newest wallet version 1.0.4. This will help secure the PCN blockchain further and increase the percentage of consensus for PXN 1.0.4 wallets. We expect to have the wallet patch out within the next coming days. Once the wallet patch is available, we ask that all users install the wallet patch as per the provided instructions.

We repeat.

– Original scam developer for PCN is now active.

– Going by the name John Matthews in Telegram, and goldman/cryptopow in Discord

– The images that he has provided as evidence of identity have been noticeably digitally altered.

– Openly saying that he wants to take back the PCN blockchain by force – This is impossible, PXN Foundation has majority consensus.

– His new projects name is Peepcoin 2.0 (PP2) – BEWARE

– All Peepcoin 2.0/PP2 social media material should be treated as suspicious by everyone and reported to the channel admins of that particular group.

– Judging by the suspicious information (that has only just been removed after we questioned it) on the Peepcoin 2.0 website, he is attempting to scam community members once again.

– The PCN – PXN swap will now be DELAYED to remove all chances that this individual can participate in the swap.

– A patch for the latest wallet version will be released in the next few days blocking the oldest nodes from the PCN blockchain.

Spread the word far and wide, this community is smarter than he thinks.

Stay safe with your investments

The PXN Foundation

Pxn foundation update, november 2018

First and foremost, the past few months of communications have paid off and we are now the acknowledged team running PCN. Exchanges have updated wallets and CMC has updated their site with our info.

This was a major step forward and we were waiting on this so we could begin work. Without this key piece we wouldn’t be PCN or have a platform to continue to build. We realize this was a slow step but it was the key piece to this project.

1. Sibby is working on PCN and wallet technologies related to PCN. What does that mean? He is actively testing and trying to figure out a good mobile wallet for PCN/PXN. We hope to have mobile staking without the need for a 3rd party VPS.

2. Community involvement pieces. Ari is currently working on a way for you to earn more PXN while the swap is going on. The more you are active in the community, the more you will be rewarded when swap time comes. We hope that this will spur community involvement and bring us back to the vibrant conversation of the past as well as attracting new investors by showing off a new fully automated rewards system.

3. Swapbot. Giorgio has completed and is testing the bot that will handle swapping PCN to PXN. So far testing with his private group is yielding great results and all seems to be in order for deployment. The bot will handle everyone’s swap in a secure manner with coins being stored behind a multi level incredibly secure network he has built.

4. While we can’t divulge everything happening behind the scenes we can give you a high level overview of what we are working on. Ari is working on the PXN blockchain. This is more private at the moment but we will have updates on it in the next 30 days. The time line for release around the end of Q1 2019 is still on and obtainable without problem.

PeepCoin history, present and future

In the summer of 2016 a “Coin for the people” (PeepCoin or PCN) was launched, using their own private system for instant, fee-less and secure transactions between individuals and merchants. An inital ICO price was 0.01 US$ per token.

The website text contained a number of red flags (e.g. this quote: “we use a predetermined value system that ensures everyone benefits. The price is always rising in value, this ensures that your money is growing…NO RISK!!!”). But still millions of dollars were raked in and a fairly large community was build around the coin. The coin was (and still is) listed on a number of exchanges and can be followed on CMC. The original developers build a working blockchain protocol, Peepcoin wallets for Windows, Mac and Linux and a staking mechanism to keep distributed nodes processing all transactions. All the code was open source and a fair amount of developers were involved to build the eco system.

Around the fall of 2017, the website was suddenly pulled off the air. The main developers left the project and the domainname became up for sale. The price had already tanked to sub 1 satoshi levels but the coin continued to be traded on minor exchanges. Very large wallets remained dormant.

In the avelange of new coins this past year, an operational blockchain with a coin listed on a number of exchanges and with thousands of coin holders, is in itself a valuable asset. A new team (including some of the original devs) were able to forward all PCN traffic to a new website, announcing the DAPS project and preparing a fork from the PCN blockchain with a 1:1 swap from PCN to DAPS.

The new coin will be an anonymous payment system with a trustless governance system. They set up a code of conduct that any developer who wanted to contribute needed to follow before being allowed to add to the code base. The new DAPS would have a number of proven technologies stacked to make it a very secure and anonymous payment method. This was in the period that another privacy coin XVG was the target of several hacks and one comment on youtube was that “DAPS will have everything that XVG wished it had”…

This news gathered some momentum and the PCN price went up to an ATH of 18 satoshi in a couple of months. Mid June 2018, the DAPS team noticed one of the biggest and oldest wallets was starting to trade again and a 1:1 swap would potentially create a very dominant whale, most probably the original PCN initiator. They intended to exclude suspicious wallets from the swap but based on legal advise, the team quickly decided not to do a swap but an airdrop based on a snapshot they had just taken from the blockchain (block 1120535, or 06/27/2018 at 02:00 UTC), blacklisting the suspicious wallet addresses. This triggered a massive dump and sharp price drop back to 1 satoshi within hours of their announcement.

The reasons for The foundation to revive PeepCoin

A lot of people owning PCN got recked and some were even hit twice. Many were left holding bags of what was now seen as a dead coin, a coin with no future, dumped on the fast growing pile of dead ICO’s. In that chaos and turmoil a number of community members put their hands up and decided to try and help in the true sense of the crypto community ethics. After all, there was still a community that had not sold their PCN and were supporting the original purpose of PeepCoin.

Especially in the first days & weeks, this sort of open sourced leadership has its tricky moments of uncertainty. Being a new team that was committed to transparency and trying to build community trust a vote was held where we asked the community if they wanted more transparency from the team. Transparency in the sense of names and profile pictures that would reflect actual real live people and not random cartoon avatars. The community voted yes, but this turned into a fight back in the boardroom as some team members didn’t want that level of transparency and others did. We lost a number of good team members then but we completely understand their apprehension on disclosing details and rather prefer privacy in terms of security. After some time the early turmoil in the team settled down, new members joined and by doing so the PXN Foundation was born.

A lot of discussion was happening within the team in the early stages while listening to the community. In these first few moments it wasn’t really clear what direction would be best but a number of ideas were jotted out and announced to the PCN community. Both on Discord and Telegram the community picked up steam again and the low price was a good opportunity for the more optimistic followers to load up their wallets with millions of coins. In absolute numbers, trading was massive.

Initially we thought after our proposal to swap to PXN another team would pick up PCN and maintain it. But what value would we be bringing to PCN if we did this. Potentially this could create another community of REKT disgruntled folks. We absolutely didn’t want that to happen. We realized the PCN community (including ourselves) wanted PCN to be maintained and updated indefinitely and by doing so establishing value again in everyone’s investments and creating a better future for the PCN community.

Stay tuned for more news as we go forward, thank you!
